Hello Runners! The race is only one week away! We are all looking forward to a fantastic weekend! The projected weather forecast for the weekend is SUNNY with high temperatures in the high 50s and low temperatures in the mid 40s. To help make your race more enjoyable, we suggest that runners please read and follow the procedures below.

Expo & Packet Pick-Up

Runners should pick up their race packet from 12PM to 5PM on Saturday, February 29th, at the Seaside School, Building 3. Your race packet includes your bib number and t-shirt. New this year, we will have virtual goody bags; check out the link now by clicking here for tons of great deals!

Please remember to bring your registration confirmation and a photo ID. We will also require another signed hard-copy waiver from everyone at packet pickup. Please click and download the waiver here, and have it ready in hand when you pick up your packet. This will keep the lines moving faster!

IMPORTANT: As our race policy states, we do not allow 3rd party packet pickups. You must pick up your own packet. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule. Please remember that bibs are NON-TRANSFERABLE and NON-REFUNDABLE. You may not give or sell your race number to another runner. You must show your assigned bib number to run in this race. Unauthorized runners will be disqualified. We hope you understand and thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Saturday Parking

Parking in Seaside is very limited and we encourage our participants to take the complimentary shuttle from the public parking area on Highway 283 in Grayton Beach to Seaside (see map below). Two shuttles will be running throughout the day.

MAP
If you park in Seaside, please note there is NO PARKING on certain areas of Forest Street or Tupelo Circle. NO PARKING in areas reserved or blocked with parking cones. Under NO circumstances should any parking cones be moved. The Seaside Town Council Security Team will be monitoring these areas throughout the weekend.

VIP Parking Passes

If you purchased a VIP parking pass, please make arrangements to retrieve your pass at packet pick-up. These parking passes MUST be picked up on Saturday, February 29th, to use the following race day. You MUST have your parking pass displayed to enter the VIP parking area on Sunday.

PLEASE NOTE: NO PARKING IS ALLOWED ALONG FOREST STREET OR TUPELO CIRCLE IN SEASIDE. No parking in areas reserved with parking cones. Under no circumstances should any parking cones be moved.

Race Day

Please arrive EARLY! 30A will close at 6:00 a.m. to ALL traffic (including VIP parking pass holders.) Because all parking in Seaside is limited, we have designated parking and will provide free shuttle transportation into Seaside. Shuttle parking on Race Day will be available at Emerald Coast Middle School (ECMS) on Hwy 98, east of Hwy 395 (address is 4019 US-98, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459). Look for signage on Hwy 98 at ECMS for parking. When you get to ECMS, volunteers will direct you to an available parking lot. The drop off/pickup location in Seaside is conveniently positioned near the start/finish line. The shuttle will run continuously from 5:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Please plan accordingly to ensure you do not miss the race.

*Please note, there will be NO shuttle parking available at the Publix Shopping Center on Hwy 395 this year. All race day parking (with the exception of VIP Parking Permit holders) will be located at ECMS.

The Half Marathon will start at 7AM and the 5K will follow at approximately 7:25AM The course will reopen to traffic at 10:30AM. All remaining runners/walkers will be directed to continue the race on the adjacent sidewalk. Please be aware that all race timing will end at 10:30 a.m. If you are unable to finish before then, you may pick up your medal, food, and Vera Bradley tote at the volunteer tent. Discarded clothing along the race route may be retrieved at the Lost and Found tent.

Before the race begins, it is important that your bib is correctly placed so that your race number is visible. The timing chips are attached to the back of the bib, so please do not fold or crumble your bib. The bib must be attached to the front and center of your shirt with 4 safety pins, one in each corner in order for the chip to be read properly. It is important that you keep your bib to receive your Vera Bradley tote and delicious free meal graciously donated by Ji Shi Kitchen, Great Southern Café and Bud & Alley’s.

The Seaside School Half Marathon & 5K race will utilize the RunSignUp platform to publish photos from the 2020 race. The photos will be available on the individual results page on RunSignUp. Your photos will be tagged by your race/bib number so be sure to have your number clearly visible at all times and SMILE when you cross the finish line! The photos will be posted within 24 hours of the last finisher crossing the finish line and there is no cost to download the photos. A special thank you to our 2020 Photography Sponsor, Porath & Associates.

Once you cross the finish line get ready to reward yourself with some post-race fun! After the race, grab your food (and free beer from Grayton Beer), and join us in the Seaside Amphitheater for great live music and awards. And don’t forget about the silent auction! The auction is live online now and will be going Friday through Sunday during race weekend too… so you shouldn’t miss it!
