Proceeds from the Seaside School Half Marathon + 5K & Race Weekend benefit the Seaside School, Inc. Founded in 1996, The Seaside School, Inc. was one of the first and is now one of the oldest surviving public charter schools in the state of Florida. The Seaside School opened to 36 students, 2 faculty members and a single administrator serving students in sixth through eighth grades. Today, the school has expanded to fifth through twelfth grades serving around 400 students. For the past 25 years, our ambitious staff, involved parents and supportive community have led the Seaside Schools, comprised of the Seaside Neighborhood School and Seacoast Collegiate High School, to be consistently recognized as leaders at both state and national achievement levels.
Our continued growth and success of The Seaside Way reaffirms what our charter pioneers understood a quarter-century ago. Led by continual support, exploration, accountability, scholarship, independence, dreams and effort, students cultivate their diversity and begin to understand ways that they can make unique contributions to society.
Registration Fees
Our 21st anniversary is going to be one for the books, and we can’t wait to run with you. To ensure safety on the course, we require our runners to be at least 6 years of age to compete in the 5K and at least 14 years of age to compete in the Half Marathon. We have limited registration numbers for each of the following runner groups:
A $20 discount is available to military personnel, first responders and educators with proof of active military identification cards, honorable discharge papers, police/firefighter/EMT identification cards or school identification cards. Please email documents before registering to [email protected] to receive a discount code. This discount is not redeemable for cash value.

2023 Race Swag
The 2023 swag will not disappoint. An Instagram-worthy favorite of our runners has always been the Vera Bradley bag, and all participants will receive a Vera Bradley® Grand Tote in Plum Pansies (17.5″ w x 15.0″ h x 7.5″ d with 12.0″ strap drop) made from recycled cotton. A vintage floral blouse provided the perfect inspiration for these vibrant new blooms. With a dynamic scale sourced from runways and a friendly color palette that pairs so well with denim and neutrals, this motif is a breath of fresh air that adds a welcomed pop of pattern anywhere.

Registration Confirmation
Each person who registers for one of the Seaside School Half Marathon + 5K & Race Weekend events will receive a confirmation email to their validated email address. The confirmation email will contain a copy of the registrant’s personalized virtual bib, as well as instructions for engaging with RaceJoy. If you need a copy of the confirmation email, please following the steps below:

- Go to your Profile
- Click My Registered Races
- Click View/Edit next to the registration that you would like to resend the confirmation email for
- Click the Resend Confirmation Email link
- Check the email listed in your Profile for your registration confirmation
Refer a Friend, Get a Refund
Get rewarded for referring friends and family to run with you. Invite them to join the fun by sharing your unique referral link via email and social media. How it works:
- Register for either distance of the Seaside School Half + 5K Marathon.
- Share your unique referral link on Facebook, Twitter, or via email from your participant account, confirmation web page, or confirmation email.
- Registrations generated from your unique referral link will be tracked by RunSignUp.
- We will automatically process refunds after you reach the threshold of 5 ($10 refund), 10 ($20 refund) or 15 ($30 refund) referrals.
Race Length Transfers
A word of caution to our registrants…
Each year, we have several Half Marathon registrants who decide on race day to switch from the Half Marathon to the 5K and a few registrants who decide to switch from the 5K to the Half Marathon. Our policy is to move these participants to a “Disqualified Division” which means we do not capture or publish an official finish time for these participants.
Participants can avoid this situation by requesting an official transfer. Please send an email request for transfer to [email protected] Enter “Seaside Event Transfer “in the subject line and give us your first/last name and date of birth.
Standard transfer fee as published on the registration page will apply:
After 12:00 AM CST January 15, 2023 until 11:59 PM February 6, 2023: Refund of the price differential for the Half Marathon and 5K fee minus a $20 processing fee Additional charge of the price differential for the 5K and the Half Marathon plus a $20 processing fee
After 12:00 AM CST February 6, 2023 until 5:00 PM February 18, 2023 Transfers must be processed at the packet pick up site: refund of the price differential for the Half Marathon and 5K fee minus a $25 processing fee. Race Entry Regulations
- Entry fees are non-transferable and non-refundable.
- You must be at least 6 years old to run the 5K and at least 14 years old to run the half marathon.
- You must be in good health and physically prepared to race.
About RaceJoy
RaceJoy utilization in included as part of the registration fee. The RaceJoy application utilizes your smart phone’s GPS capability to record distance and time. Instructions for RaceJoy utilization for virtual events are as follows:
- Get the App: Download RaceJoy from the App Store or Google Play.
- Find our Race: Click Featured Races to access the event you are doing or search by name in the search field.
- Set Up Tracking: Click I Want to Be Tracked and follow the prompts carefully. Select the course(s) you plan to complete.
- Enter Your Bib Number for Results: For events offering virtual scored results, enter your bib number provided to you by the race. RaceJoy will then automatically submit your finish data.
- Ensure Proper Settings: Follow RaceJoy’s prompts and adjust settings as needed.
- Race Day: Click TRACK ME: Make sure to click the green blinking TrackMe button on race day to start the tracking of your phone. Select the course you are signed up to run. Click START MY RACE as you begin your walk/run to start your personal clock. RaceJoy auto detects when you complete the course distance. No need to click Finish.
