Taste of the Race

We’re back for 2023 and excited to celebrate one of the most anticipated, annual culinary events in South Walton, the unofficial pre-party to the Seaside School Half Marathon & 5K, Taste of the Race! Join us on Friday, February 17, 2023, in the iconic Seaside Lyceum as we enjoy cuisine from many of the Gulf Coast’s top chefs and restaurants.

Party-goers can attend this delicious Seaside party that features more than 20 local chefs competing for the top culinary awards including the coveted Chef’s Choice Award.

The Seaside School Half Marathon & 5K weekend kicks off in delicious style. This annual showcase of South Walton’s unforgettable culinary style is a must-do for anyone interested in getting the most out of race weekend. Rain or shine, our guests are able to sample culinary delights from the area’s top chefs and restaurants while enjoying live music and the company of fellow racers and local foodies. The Seaside School, Inc. depends on the funds raised from these events to operate our beloved community school. Proceeds from the 2022 Taste of the Race will directly support the culinary program at the Seaside Neighborhood School, which presents educational opportunities for students in grades 5 through 8. Through this opportunity, our students will have the ability to continue to expand their knowledge about food and healthy habits in our very own Seaside Neighborhood School Culinary Garden.

Founded in 1996, The Seaside School, Inc. was one of the first and is now the oldest operating public charter school in the state of Florida.
