What exactly is a layer drop?
Picture this: It’s race morning and there’s a chill in the air. You pull on your gear and realize you’re going to need a long sleeve shirt and maybe a thin jacket. When you get to the starting line, your breath fogs the air and you’re grateful for all of your layers keeping your muscles warm.
The race starts and as the miles tick by, you realize you’re getting warm. When you begin to sweat less from exertion and more from those toasty layers, you peel your first layer off and try to decide whether you tie it around your waist or drop it along the race course.
Right about that time, you hear a marching band and a vibrant group cheering you on. This isn’t just any group of cheerleaders, this is a layer drop where you can confidently leave your layers with someone who puts them in a bag that matches your bib number. The best part? You don’t have to pick it up until after the race.
Once your hands are free, you’re able to focus all of your energy on running the race of your life.
When you cross the finish line, you spend some time recovering and having fun in the Seaside Amphitheater ,then head to lululemon Grayton Beach where your layer has been safely tucked away in a bag. On the outside of the bag, your bib number is written and each bag is placed so that your layer is easy to find.
BONUS: With your drop, you’ll have the chance to be surprised with a special treat from lululemon! Upon picking up your layers post-race, a few lucky runners will be delighted with mini shopping sprees.
