Personally and professionally, I’ve found that running gives us an immediate opportunity to condition ourselves to reduce stress and overcome adversity. When I’m struggling during a run, my mind usually plays against me. Thoughts of past failures and painful experiences start showing up. By embracing these thoughts, and pushing through my run, I learn to ignore the desire to quit, and instead, overcome. I believe this skill, when practiced, can be applied to other areas of life as well.

Training is not only a method to improving our physical health, but also a tool we can use to discover our capabilities, do more of what we love, and live with greater fulfillment.

My favorite aspect of the Seaside School Half Marathon + 5K is its support of education as the foundation for worldly impact. Education is a gift we can give to others that can never be lost or taken away. I am happy to be part of a movement that supports this idea by providing learning opportunities for our kids.

I was asked to pace and support training efforts for the virtual race by supporting all 10:00/mi for the half marathon and I’m really looking forward to supporting everyone’s goals along the way.
